Paul Hines is featured in a movie "Remember the Titans", that was released on September 29, 2000. The movie focuses on the 1971 TC Williams High School football team in Alexandria, Virginia. It was a championship team. His life is recounted in the book, "A Titan of A Man - A Coach of the Famous '71 Titans Who Inspired Generations of Young People."
Paul was the offensive line coach of the team at the time and
worked with head coach Herman Boone and assistant coaches Dennis
Shaw, Glenn Furman, Don Futrell and Bill Yoast. Those coaches
led the Titans to a successful and victorious football year.
Along the way taught them the value of determination and cooperation.
The person playing the role of Paul Hines is actor, writer and
activist Greg Alan Williams. Greg was a regular on the hit show
"Baywatch" and the CBS medical drama "City of
Angels". The movie also stars Denzel Washington and Will
Patton.
The Titans's story was put into a script by Greg Allen Howard.
Mr. Howard interviewed Paul when preparing the story. The script
was bought by Disney and the movie went into production in October
1999.
